The Whiskey Daredevils Live in Greenhills Ohio!!!!

Friday Night November 20th at The Backdoor Saloon in beautiful Greenhills OH
Opening band is Creeper. This is the biggest show to hit this area in a long time.
You quite simply do not want to miss this show!

Are the Whiskey Daredevils the best country punkabilly band in the world? Probably, but that’s maybe because they might be the only ones on the planet that really do what they do. Think we’re crazy? OK…Then tell us, what band on the planet combines the energy of punk rock, the raw honesty and twang of American country music, and the attitude of classic 60’s garage rock? Nobody we can think of…

The problem with “marketing” a band like the Whiskey Daredevils is they don’t fit into an existing genre. Instead they have taken over their own exclusive niche in the musical landscape. They’re not rockabilly because they don’t play old instruments and sing about time capsule concepts like soda shops and sock hops. No flaming skull tattoos here…They sure aren’t psychobilly because there’s no cheap Halloween makeup or ill advised songs about zombies. Well, what the hell are they doing? Maybe they’re just writing honest songs about what goes on in their corner of the world (Cleveland, Ohio), and playing them in a way that comes naturally…

Arthritis Walk, Support team Caralyn

A good friend of Junedale.com posted this:

May 17th downtown at the serpentine wall is the annual arthritis walk. my wife and I got involved in this when our baby Caralyn was diagnosed with chronic rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 12 months. Now she's five years old and still battling juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. We sponsor team Caralyn and are trying to put together some fund raising in her name for the cause. The walk is a good time for anyone who is interested. Sponsors provide a nice selection of food and refreshments after the walk. The U.C. football team is usually there along with some local celebrities. Any support would be appreciated either by attending the event or financial support.

MAYFEST 2009, Rides, Games, Food, Drinks, Music

Come on out and celebrate “village style” as we usher out spring and capture the onset of summer behind the shopping center in “old school” pioneer fashion.
This year, in cooperation with Kissel Brothers Amusement, we will be setting up a carnival just like it was "back in the day"

Memorial Day Weekend Saturday May 23rd, Festivities will start at noon and continue until 11pm with a fun packed afternoon and evening. This coincides with the opening of the pool. We will return on Sunday at Noon and continue our summer celebration till 9:00

Scheduled activities:
Saturday May 23rd12-5:00PM Take to the Pioneer Trail for the 2nd annual Great Green Goose Chase.A FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT!!!! A great challenge as well as a Great opportunity to show the kids a little Pioneer History. We plan on stepping it up this year as villagers attempt to take the Great Green Goose trophy from Christine McDaniel. Be ready for anything! More details to follow
6:00PM-10:00, (maybe 11:00 PM) Live MusicAgain we are going to be trying some new things here, so stay tuned as Supa and Stroker Ace Productions put together something special

Sunday May 24th12:00 Pioneer Burger Contest, Stew27 and Phro will be defending their Titles from 2008. We are interviewing some new candidates to sit on our Judge's panel, and we also expect some to return from last year.12:00 rides and game booths opens.2:00-9:00 We plan on firing up the music once again, just maybe a little more geared towards a Sunday after-church audience. (you won't find Creeper playing at this time)

These plans will evolve as we approach the Memorial day weekend. Stay tuned to Junedale.com for the updates as they happen.

And please don't forget the Memorial Day Ceremony on the commons Monday Morning. The great veterans from the Legion work hard every year to make sure that we remember those who gave their lives so we may enjoy the freedoms that many of us seem to take for granted. There was great crowd last year and even some free food and bottled water. It's really a must-see, especially for the kids.
